Easy Homemade Spaghetti Carbonara Recipe

Spaghetti Carbonara Recipe- Easy Homemade.

Spaghetti Carbonara is a classic Italian pasta dish showcasing Italian cuisine's simplicity and elegance. It's a must-try for pasta lovers and anyone looking to experience the flavours of Italy

Here's a recipe for Spaghetti Carbonara:

Ingredients:

- 12 ounces (about 340 grams) of spaghetti

- 3 large eggs

- 1 cup grated Pecorino Romano cheese (or Parmesan as a substitute)

- 4 ounces (about 115 grams) of guanciale or pancetta, diced

- Freshly ground black pepper

- Salt

- Olive oil (optional, for cooking)

Instructions:

1. Prepare the Ingredients:

   - Start by bringing a large pot of salted water to a boil. Once it's boiling, add the spaghetti and cook according to the package instructions until al dente. Reserve about 1/2 cup of pasta cooking water before draining the pasta.

   - While the pasta is cooking, whisk the eggs in a bowl and mix in the grated Pecorino Romano cheese. Season generously with freshly ground black pepper. Set this mixture aside.

2. Cook the Guanciale or Pancetta:

   - In a large skillet, heat a small amount of olive oil over medium heat (if needed, as guanciale or pancetta can release its own fat when cooked). Add the diced guanciale or pancetta and cook until it becomes crispy and golden brown. This should take about 5-7 minutes. Remove the skillet from heat.

3. Combine Pasta and Sauce:

   - Once the pasta is cooked al dente, drain it but do not rinse. Immediately transfer the hot, drained pasta to the skillet with the crispy guanciale or pancetta. Toss the pasta and meat together to combine.

4. Add the Egg and Cheese Mixture:

   - Pour the egg and cheese mixture over the hot pasta and quickly toss everything together. The heat from the pasta will cook the eggs and create a creamy sauce. If the sauce seems too thick, you can add a little reserved pasta cooking water gradually until you reach the desired consistency. The key is to work quickly to prevent the eggs from scrambling.

5. Serve:

   - Taste and adjust the seasoning with more black pepper if needed. Remember that Pecorino Romano cheese is salty, so additional salt may not be necessary.

   - Serve immediately, garnishing each portion with extra grated Pecorino Romano cheese and a pinch of black pepper.

Enjoy your homemade Spaghetti Carbonara! It's a classic Italian dish that's rich, creamy, and packed with flavour.
